“I think it is more difficult for a Belarusian to get into Oxford as an undergraduate - that is, a bachelor's degree, since there it would be necessary to take a-levels, preparation for which may require significant financial investments, plus you need to have a special form of capital - the so-called cultural capital, i.e. .e. the candidate’s parents, the candidate himself or his mentor must know in advance what the a-levels are and the process of entering the first stage of higher education in the UK - therefore it is very difficult to prepare, and, as a rule, few people know about it (me and I didn’t know until I came to Britain). Although there is a Reach scholarship at Oxford, which Belarusians can also apply for. It covers the entire cost of education - so, if you wish, there are opportunities to get a bachelor’s degree at such a university. , like Oxford, I think may have the greatest return in terms of acquiring skills for later life,” explained Plaszczynski.
